Paray’s Lechon Cebu is a small family business. It all started by my hard working, self-employed father. Way back then he goes to the livestock auction market (tabu) every Thursday in Papan Sibonga, Southern part of Cebu now in Mantalungon Barili. He buys an average of 6 to 8 swine based on estimate (mata-mata) which is quite tricky to get the best deal. In going back to the city, since we didn’t have our own vehicle he will just load our swine to a truck owned by a cattle businessman from Cabantan , Cebu City and pay like fifty pesos each for the fare. While my father does his job, my mother contributes working as a radio announcer for thirty years in one of the prestigious broadcasting network in the country.
Since we belong to the low class in society, my family helps each other in running our small business. In the late 90’s my father used to tag me along with him (I was nine years old then) every Sunday selling per kilo lechon in Pepito’s Beach, Lilo-an Cebu. And then we started accepting orders for special occasions like birthdays, weddings, baptism etc. Our customers were primarily relatives and friends who live nearby Talamban and Mandaue City. For years and years of hard work and perseverance, eventually our lechon gained recognition. Now we are enjoying patronage from our few but die-hard and loyal valued customers mostly local and from outside Cebu. Orders have become gradually increasing and customers are giving us good and inspiring feedbacks that drive us to make this business grow and succeed.
Our slogan Paray’s Lechon Cebu, The taste you “WON’T FORGET” is a promise we intend to keep and fulfill for our customers’ satisfaction.
